Three little commands — awk, sed, and grep — are the workhorses of shell scripts. They let us extract data from blobs of text and turn it into information we can use.



Let’s spend a little time getting nerdy by examining each of these command line tools independently and with each other.



We’ll review each command line tool, define their advantages, and watch them in action. The goal of this session to show Mac admins how they can change anything with a little help from awk, sed, and grep.
